I recently relocated from B.C to Alberta, making Calgary my new
home. I am a CanFit Pro certified personal trainer with many years experience in the fitness industry. Throughout my career I have helped many people lose weight, gain confidence, gain strength and endurance. “The best part of being a personal trainer is empowering people to reach and surpass their own fitness goals!”
I was introduced to Pilates years ago, when my physiotherapist suggested it as a way to reduce back pain and improve posture. After just a few lessons, I had a reduction in pain and I could see how incorporating the basic principles of Pilates into my own workouts, and my daily life just made sense!
My education as a personal trainer taught me to focus on big movements while working the big muscle groups. Since becoming a Pilate’s instructor I have gained a deeper understanding of the importance of all the small, stabilizing muscles in our body and the effect these muscles have on posture, improving strength, endurance and ultimately preventing injury. Since applying the basic principles of Pilates into my own workouts I have started training more efficiently. I now focus on more functional training. Strengthening the smaller muscle groups, and balancing my body from the inside out, always focusing on my deep core muscles.
Being strong means being balanced throughout the entire body! And this, in turn, leads to improved performance in everything we do!
I am also certified to teach TRX, and indoor cycling. I love to mix thing up and I am always thinking of new and exciting ways to provide a challenging workout for my clients.
