Mat Classes

Our mat classes are registered and run for 8 weeks. If you wish to join an existing class during the 8 week semester, one of our certified instructors will first assess you to determine the class that best suits your current fitness and personal wellness goals.

Pilates Mat Level One:

This is an introduction to the Pilates mat work and is recommended for people with little to no experience with Pilates. The focus is on learning the basic principles, breathing, abdominal muscle isolation and control and basic muscle group awareness. Pilates and essential mat exercises will be introduced in a sequential fashion.

 

Pilates Mat Level One/Two:

This class is a continutation of a Level 1 class with the introduction of some intermediate exercises. The Pilates Level One/Two class will appeal to those who want to move to the next level in Pilates. Pre-requisites are Pilates Level One or an assessment and approval by an instructor.

 

Pilates Mat Level Two:

These sessions build on the basic skills learned in Level One. All of the basic principles of Pilates are incorporated into your exercises and you will be introduced to number of intermediate exercises. Level One or previous Pilates experience is required. The focus is on maintaining form while increasing pace.

 

Pilates Mat Level Two/Three:

For those who like a challenge, join a Level Two/Three mat class and become skilled in the Intermediate Pilates mat exercises while incorporating your existing knowledge of Pilates basic principles. Pilates Level Two mat or previous Intermediate Pilates experience is required. Our Level Two/Three mat class focuses on isolating and challenging those deep core muscles and stabilizing muscles.

 

Pilates Mat Level Two - Ball & Bosu Class:

Big balls, little balls, medium balls - this class consists of intermediate mat exercises using the balls. This a full body workout with a focus on core strength. Pilates Level Two mat experience or assessment by an instructor is required.

 

Pilates Mat Level Three - Advanced Mat: 

 This is a high level, fast paced mat class.  It offers the next level of fitness by incorporating complicated and challenging exercises that require flexibility, strength and endurance.  Must have experience at the Intermediate/Level 2 Pilates mat classes.

 

Pilates Combo Mat and Reformer:

This challenging class consists of both an intermediate mat and an equipment Reformer component. The mat component will focus on improving your core and then transitions to the reformer where the focus then shifts to stabilizing exercises. There is a maximum of 4 participants and you must be at an intermediate level.
